- Incumbent Speaker of the National Assembly.

- Participated in peace talks with rebellion Movement abroad and
Presided government delegate in several negotiation rounds, particularly
in IGAD initiative.

2001-2005 Speaker of the National Assembly.

2000-2001 President’s Adviser for peace affairs.

1998-2000 Minister of Federal Relations.

1994-2001 Member – Higher Judicial Council.

1994-1998 Member – Justice Council.

1994-1998 President’s Adviser for legal affairs.

1993-1994 Chairperson of Administrative Complaints Committee, Member of the National Assembly

1990-1993 Deputy Governor, Minister of Finance – Darfur State.

1980-1982 Member – The People’s National Assembly.

Engaged in bar business, then Ministry of Justice, then back to basr.
